Infectious mononucleosis is commonly known as "Pfeiffer's disease" or glandular fever. It is caused by the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) which can be transmitted by saliva during kissing.
In this experiment, the presence of the EBV is sought by using the ELISA reaction to detect specific viral proteins.
Material for 10 groups, duration approximately 50 minutes.
Kit contains: simulated samples, antibodies, various solutions and reagents, pipette tips and micro test tubes.
Also required: Micropipettes, glassware, distilled or demineralised water.
Of course, the kit does NOT contain an Epstein-Barr virus, but a harmless, non-human protein with which the test is done.
