Clear results due to the different colours
Blue litmus paper colours red under the influence of acids does not change colour under the influence of bases. Red paper turns blue under the influence of acids while it does not change colour under the influence of acids.
Neutral paper is purplish in colour and turns red with acids, blue with bases.
