The Go Direct SpectroVis Plus easily introduces spectrophotometry to the student.
Within a second, absorption, transmission or intensity of an entire wavelength range is determined.
Then, once the wavelength peak is determined, concentration (Lambert Beer's Law) or reaction rate can be measured.
Because the light path is placed low, the spectrophotometer can also be used in microscale labs and biochemistry applications with semi-micro and micro cuvettes.
In addition, the meter features 2 fixed excitation wavelengths (405 and 500 nm) for fluorescence or emission measurements. Possible experiments: enzyme kinetics, equilibrium studies of absorbance against time or absorbance against concentration, colorimetry and fluorometry, flame test emission spectra or spectra of light sources.
For more precise emission experiments, the Vernier Emission Spectrometer is intended.
The Go Direct SpectroVis Plus contains an LED and tungsten light source which is refracted through a high-quality grating.
This light is collected by a linear CCD array detector.
