The temperature sensor BT05i measures temperature in the range between -40 °C and 150 °C. It is a general purpose temperature sensor that can be used to measure temperature in liquids (water, slightly acidic solutions) and air. The sensor element is the TMP235A2 and is encased in a stainless steel tube filled with a thermally conductive paste. The element is based on thermal diodes and produces a voltage that is linearly dependent on the temperature. The stainless steel tube has a length of 12 cm.
The Temperature Sensor can be used in many experiments such as:
- Monitoring indoor and outdoor temperatures.
- Monitoring freezing and boiling of water.
- Monitoring endothermic and exothermic reactions.
- Specific heat experiments.
- Insulation studies.
- Solar energy studies.
The temperature sensor can be connected directly to the analog inputs of the CMA interfaces.
Technical specifications of the Temperature Sensor are described in the Temperature Sensor Manual.
